The Pathology department provides a range of diagnostic services within clinical pathology to internal departments of the LUMC, as well as revisions and consultations in response to regional, national and international referrals.
Research
The Department of Pathology conducts basic, translational, and clinical research, with a strong focus on patient material to uncover disease mechanisms and improve diagnostics and therapy. A key strength is the translation of research into molecular diagnostic applications.
Research is primarily centered on cancer. Our teams integrate advanced methods such as genomics, multidimensional immunophenotyping, functional biochemical assays, and artificial intelligence.
