Dr. Jos Bart

Dr. Jos Bart is a pathologist with a particular interest in gynecological pathology, breast oncology, and surgical oncology. He obtained his medical degree and PhD from the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen before completing his pathology training at the University Medical Center Groningen. He has worked as a pathologist and academic researcher for many years, combining clinical diagnostics with translational cancer research. Regarding educational activities, he has been involved in the bachelor and master programme of Medicine, as block coordinator and examinator. In addition, he was primary educator of the pathology residents. He cooperated in numerous research projects and collaborated extensively within national and international pathology networks. Over the years, he has held several leadership positions within pathology, including the presidency of the Dutch Society for Pathology, while remaining actively involved in cancer research and diagnostics. He currently serves as Head of the Department of Pathology at Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC), where he combines patient care, research and education.
