We perform translational research on brain tumors and tumors of the eye. Examples are meningioma, glioblastoma and uveal melanoma. Hereby, we focus on improving the diagnosis and prognostication of these tumors and research into novel cancer treatments. These lines of research are in collaboration with neurosurgeons, neurologists, ophthalmologists and oncologists in order to address clinical relevant questions that can help to improve patient care.
Neurodegeneration is another line of research following well defined patient cohorts suffering from diseases such as Huntington’s disease or cerebral amyloid angiopathy in collaboration with clinical geneticists and neurologists. Patients and their families consent to autopsy to study the brain.
