The research of the bone and soft tissue tumor group (head: Prof. Judith V.M.G. Bovee) aims to identify tumor-specific changes in bone and soft tissue tumours that can be used for improvement of diagnosis, for targeted therapy, and for prediction of response to therapy, thereby facilitating precision medicine for patients with sarcomas. To this end, the group uses single-cell resolution and spatial data, combined with 3D culture systems to validate findings (PI: Dr David G.P. van Ijzendoorn). In addition, artificial intelligence models trained on digital images are being developed, with the aim of improving the diagnosis of bone tumours (PI: Dr Suk Wai Lam).
